In collaboration with the Africa Capacity Building Council, we launched a groundbreaking trade skills training program for unemployed youth in the Mbhashe Municipality. This region faces significant poverty and high youth unemployment rates, making this initiative crucial for empowering young adults with vocational skills.

Impact

  • Despite high demand, we trained 10 youths in carpentry, providing them with hands-on skills. Due to limited tools, trainees had to take turns, yet they produced functional chairs and tables within a week.
  • These newly acquired skills will help participants pursue employment or entrepreneurship opportunities, creating a path out of poverty.
  • This project has sparked further interest, and with funding, we can expand and reach more youths eager for opportunity.
