We welcomed a recent graduate awaiting placement by the Department of Education as a volunteer at Viedgesville Primary School. She assists with library operations and fills in for absent teachers. Additionally, a retired teacher with a passion for sports has volunteered to lead physical education sessions three times a week.

Impact

  • Engaging community members as volunteers fosters a sense of ownership and trust within the school environment.
  • Students benefit from personalized attention, reduced disruptions, and improved academic and physical performance.
  • Volunteers gain valuable experience while reinforcing the idea that education is a community-wide effort.
  • Community learns the importance of working together, contributing to common good, and developing a spirit of selfless service.
