We transformed an old shipping container into a vibrant community library, which has quickly become a beloved space for students. The library has been in full use since the beginning of the third school term, helping to instil a love for reading and improving literacy levels. English-speaking activities have also been introduced to further develop language skills.

Impact

  • The library is addressing educational inequality by fostering a reading culture, steadily improving literacy, and supporting holistic student development.
  • With improved access to books and resources, students are better equipped for a brighter future.
  • By leveraging library services effectively, the school can now provide meaningful learning opportunities for students even when teachers are unavailable, thereby reducing the likelihood of students engaging in mischief or disruptive behaviour.
